n9eav - I've used Quidco for last 3 years and have been paid out £550 to date. All on stuff I would have bought anyway! :) The odd thing doesn't track occasionally. The one tip I have is to make sure you clear your cookies before purchasing anything through quidco cos if you have been on the site before (the one you're buying from) then it won't track. Oh and a second tip, before you buy anything online check to see if they are on Quidco! They have companies that you would never have thought of! I got 34p for ordering my Dominos pizza the other week! :rotfl:

    Morning OS crew ;)

hart44- Thank goodness I've never had an 'episode' so bad that I passed out! Crampy with explosive (trying to be gentle here :D) trips to the loo seems to be my main symptoms. Norfolk is cloudy but very warm today, I would miss the sea if we ever did leave too . . .

Hester- Glad to see you "back" and hope you enjoy your MD meal, but shouldn't one of the other 10 be cooking and giving you the day off??

Just a quick run in, I've got a small chicken in the oven to roast for snacking and sandwiches today and tomorrow, tomorrow being a cold buffet and L/O use up day. There's a load in the washer and I've got to give the bedroom a good dust - too many nik-naks and small treasures here and there to gather dust!

Off in the the big city after lunch, need some things from Wilko, will get to the PO and the £ shop while there and check out a new hairdressers that are advertising as a 'walk ins only' place....sort of like a SuperCuts I guess.

HS10026.gif to any who are poorly in body or spirit and also, if I don't get in to the thread tomorrow - a very happy Mothers Day to all the hard working Mums out there!

    Hello everyone

I'm back and DH and I are also in our new house AT LAST! It was painful living with the in-laws toward the end of it (3 months in total ), but it was good to have that option whilst we were doing this place up. There's still plenty to do, but at least we have made a good start on it. We're actually able to watch the rugby this afternoon. There are still many boxes to unpack, but hey, they'll get done eventually.:p

Even though we had a good declutter when we moved, I've been throwing things out as I've unpacked. Surely not the best way to do things?! :o However, I've been able to take a few bits and pieces down the charity shop and I think that I'll be able to do the same again next weekend. :)

It's been great to get back to cooking my own meals. Now, don't get me wrong, it was lovely to have MIL cooking for us (I know! For 3 months! :D) but it's nice to get back to being in charge of my own kitchen. I've bought the first meat this morning from one of the local butchers which will be used in either a chilli or a spag bol tomorrow. It does all look lovely though.... mmmm.

Right, I suppose I'd better go for now. Have a good day everyone.

  • Afternoon peeps

I have had a really busy morning - first had a shower then down to town to get some paint rollers and some white spirit - thought I had some but DH had lent them to someone and they never came back  I really hate that.
Had lots of washing as usual and have managed to get it on the line so hopefully it will dry but it is very grey and overcast here today.

I have filled the holes in the walls ready for painting - I will so glad when the decorating is done but it is another one of those things that you get to the end and have to start over again.

DH is working on the car because the horn has stopped working and that would be a fail on the mot which is next Friday.
But I am close to killing him if he calls me again. :)

DD and DS are actually talking to each other like human beings instead of screaming at each other probably won't last but it is nice to hear.

Oh well off to check if any of the washing is dry take care all will pop back later.

SNOOZER I HOPE YOU ARE RESTING !!!!!!!!!
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Grrr well my afternoon didn't quite go to plan  I set off to meet my friends at half1, decided to drive as needed to get my mum's mother's day present (terracotta pots) on the way. I get to town and check my phone, one friend cancelled due to illness, one said she would meet us for 2nd half only as she had stuff still to do so then my 3rd friend had a major strop cos "no-one was going out so was staying in to watch match at home, and that she was really p'd off"! So I rung her and pointed out that I was in town at the time agreed and waiting for her so she had no right to have a go at me! She apologised and invited me to hers instead but I declined cos I wasn't in the mood to see her after that.

So instead I popped to the library, went to visit my nan for an hour and then to my parents so I gave my mum her present today instead so I don't need to go know tomorrow. I had a nice afternoon but got home just as final whistle blew!! (probably for the best after the score!)

I had a productive morning before all that. WM on and washing out to dry on balcony, dishes washed, kitchen wiped down and tidied, hoovered all floors, tidied lounge and hallway. Just need to tidy my bedroom now, which I'll probably leave til tomorrow.

Need to decide on what to have for dinner, my freezer is jam-packed so should use up something from there, but I am in the mood for cooking so we shall see!

    Have a good evening all

    Afternoon everyone

ooh i`m bushed lol. I`ve not stopped all day and i still haven`t got all my cleaning done

The doggies had a lovely walk this morning and saw all their pals and had a good run around and then i went to pick up Dad and take him shopping.
The supermarket was rammed, it was almost like christmas all over again.

When we got back little oldie was tapdancing :rotfl: he obviously wanted another walk so off we went again, he was shattered afterwards and i`m not sure if it was the best thing to do but he had a good lie down in the park watching the ducks and the seagulls being chased by the coots, there is also one lonely canada goose on the water. Not seen any of those here for ages - wonder where the others are.

When we got back home i set to and scrubbed the car inside and out, its almost as clean as when i bought it and looks lovely, not sure where all the little scratches and scrapes have appeared from though but they`re not really noticeable now.

I`ve just planted some sweetcorn in little pots on the windowsill upstairs where we get the most sun and now i`ve sat down with a cuppa and a bar of choccy. Think that tonights tea will be curry that i made a while ago and froze and i`ve got some garlic pittas to have with it so thats me sorted. DH will be home tomorrow afternoon so i shall roast the pork then.

Just had a text from Mum who is on her way home from Switzerland
i thought that they were coming home in a couple of days so i`ve not got a card or a prezzie for her tomorrow. The plan was to wait until she was home and have a belated Mothers day but it seems that i`ve got my dates mixed up. She will probably catch up on sleep though so i`ll ring when she gets home and let her know the plan.

VickyA - Congratulations on your new home :j lol at the decluttering, i did exactly the same when we moved and we`ve still got boxes that have never been opened and that was almost five years ago :rotfl:

Offski for a browse, catch you all later.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

What a glorious day!! I decided after hanging out the washing to tackle some of the vinca in the front garden. I started on the bed under the windows, discovered that the perpetual sweet pea was perpetuating throughout the bed, so loads of it pulled out. I have it just by one window now. I want to plant a rose between the two bedroom windows, I have a very pretty white one that was at the allotment. I cut it down to bring it here, its in a pot, so it will be liberated possibly tomorrow and planted in the front. I need to go to the local wood merchant and get the wood for a trellis to support it. I am thinking of putting sweet peas on the other end......one of the beds is so bad I really think the only option is to weed kill the lot and use some of the pots on it this year and then replant it next year.

OH made quite good but slow progress in the back, its going to take us a long time to sort this garden out. There is what looks like a honeysuckle in the corner of the back, its like a tree, as is a rose, the trunk is as thick as a branch on a tree, it must have been in for ages and not pruned for years, I am not looking forward to getting in to tackle that.

I want to sort the front, I feel it says so much about the house and the people that live there, itrs called kerb appeal by estate agents.

We have lots of moss in both lawns, OH is talking about cutting the front one, the back one is like walking on a sprung floor in a ballroom......loads of moss, I will not need to buy lining for hanging baskets this year, I can use whats in the back grass.

I cooked some braising steak this morning for supper tonight, potato's cabbage and calebese with it.....might do banana fritters for dessert. I need to put the bread maker on and make a loaf, we are eating too much rubber bread.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Evening everyone

Had a lovely suprise, a delivery of a pot of plants with a card from my ds2, think my oh must have helped him organise it. DS1 bought a plant for me too and gave it me today as he didn't want to keep it in his bedroom overnight.

Had a really busy day, weather very dull but managed to peg bedding out and it was almost dry when I brought it in. Have washed down my leather sofa and polished it so looks alot better. Used a tip off here and put my grill pan in washng powder and soaked it, it has come up a treat. have dejunked the dining room so that is looking much better too.

Still need to hoover and clean floors but will wait till tomorrow as I volunteered to have everyone to mine for a buffet tomorrow afternoon.
Got gammon to put in slow cooker overnight. Jelly has been made and will turn into trifle tomorrow. Going to make potato salad and Tuna pasta tomorrow afternoon.

MSD - hope you get a postive outcome to see your nephews.
Bitsy - I love Norfolk, spent alot of time as a small child in a fishing village called Wells Next to Sea.
Snoozer - Hope you got some rest.
N9eav - I too have used Quidco for over 12 months, they do take a bit of time to pay out sometimes though.

VickyA - good luck in your new home.
Well done to all those that got exam results:T. Hope nobody was too disappointed, the young people are under so much pressure to do well these days.

Sorry If I have missed anyone, didnt get chance to post yesterday. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Hope everyone has a lovely mothers day tomorrow. Take care.

    Lynne
