I agree about smarmy Toby, but don't complain too much or we might be punished by getting the even more dreadful Alan Titchmarsh back.Oh dear, here we go again.0

Have you ever caught an episode of Beechgrove Garden? They seem to be a little more fruit & veg orientated.
It's a Scottish programme, so might not available everywhere, but if you have Catch-up on Virgin Media, then it's on there.
The new series however doesn't begin until 7th April0 -

I was wondering where beechgrove had gone.
I loved it last year and I found it on the BBC iplayer.
They even did a recycled garden last year. Re-using bits and bobs they found in the sheds on site.
I will be keeping an eye out for it.

You can watch BBC Scotland in England if you have Sky, either channel 971 (BBC1 Scotland) or 990 (BBC2 Scotland) - can't remember which it is on.
Also Alys from Gardener's World has her own programme starting soon on BBC (April?) called the Edible Garden.0 -
i,ve given up watching gardeners world i find the presenters very annoying . I watch beechgrove ..proper gardeners with practical economical advice0

And what's happened to Christine's Garden? I loved that programme, anyone know if it's coming back?"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I am fuming! £310 for a bloody pergola, yes Toby I am glad you are enjoying spending our license fee. Think I am going to stop watching Gardeners' World, he does my nut in!
Rant now over:)
Seems about right to me. I didn't see the programme, so I don't know the size of the structure, but one which would be worth putting up, say 3 bays and maybe 2.75m wide, would be about that. You could buy cheaper of, course, and it would look it, especially after 10 years or so.
Perhaps people's views here depend on whether they see their home as an asset or a liability? Houses with tatty gardens are certainly more difficult to sell.tomsolomon wrote: »They should have got some old pallets from the local builders merchants. Nice one. Unfortunately, irony travels badly on t'internet!

Sadly I doubt if we'll ever see Christine's garden back. Everybody knows that the BBC dumps any presenter over the age of 30 onto the compost heap !0

Beechgrove Garden sounds good, i have the channels mentioned.
Does anyone know when the old episodes are on?0 -
Some of the Beechgrove presenters also do a programme on radio Scotland, sundays 12-1pm0
