I seem to have more questions on this board than any other!
I tried to send a photo from my pc to my phone and it filled the memory and froze the phone
Is it possible to do it, I suppose I'm doing something wrong
Any advice in "simple" terms would be great

you need to give a bit more detail,
what phone have you got, has it got a memory card (if yes what size, how much have you used)
what size was the photo and where was you trying to transfer to memory card or phone memory0 -

It's a Nokia 6230i and it has an extra memory card in it,
After I transferred the photo from the comp I tried to send a second one and it said the memory was full.
I tried to set the first one as wallpaper and the phone behaved like the comp does when it needs a defrg and all that
I deleted them and took 20 photos from the phone camera without any bother.
so I don't think the phone memory is the problem although I've just reread your question and I've no idea if I was sending it to phone or memory card!!
I just plugged it in and it said data transfer service or something like that.0 -
As said in the original question, what is the size of the picture you are trying to send to your phone, if its 1-3 Mb then its probaby to big for your phone, the reason it say this is because 1-3 Mb for a picture will be quite a large resolution size and your phone may not be able to covert it,
you need to resize your pics to about 640 x 480 or there abouts will will be a few hundred Kb in size and that should be OK0
