Hi all you southern people. My daughter in on Go Tariff 2. I have just compared her bill to my eon bill and her electric is expensive in comparison. And my eon deal is an outdated one. What are the options with southern, and what is the get out cost of Go2. Any info appreciated.

Sorry I don't know anything about Go2. To get out of Go3 is £50. Is it not shown on the Southern site anywhere?

    Hi guccigoo,

The honest answer is I really don't know. Have just had another look on their site and it says that if you pay by direct debit you can save a further 5%, which implies that you can go on it and not pay by direct debit. It does say that it is a dual fuel deal, but then you already get both from them.

Why don't you phone them, they could give you a definite answer.

Standard energy online is an internet only based plan where you don't get sent paper bills.
thanks i will ring them monday:)

Cost of leaving GD2 is same as GD3, £50 for each fuel if you leave before 2011 (im also on GD2).

GD2 seems expensive untill you work out the discount, because on a bill it shows standard unit prices, and then a GD discount. If you compare the unit price from a bill to an energy supplier on the internet or on the phone it will seem ALOT more expensive as any energy supplier will quote you a "DD and duel fuel" discount price which is applied in the GD discount.

In compairson GD2 is very cheap, when released no energy supplier could beat it as it uses extra discount by not promoting it and only being able to sign up online.

In my area i actually left EON and joined GD2, never looked back as it is cheaper, but takes some working out to do.

I can't understand why they have to make it so complicated. When I enquired about GD3 I was told that the bill would show the standard unit prices and then a discount would be deducted for the GD3. It just seems a very strange way of doing it. Why don't they just use the prices that are on the website under this plan on the bills so it is clear?

Also, do you know why you have to set up a completely new account and DD for this even if you are an existing customer?

    Thanks.
