  • I wish I'd known that when I paid off my Credit Cards two years ago I was going to take them right back to where I'd started...I could kick myself! I'm cancelling each one as and when they're paid off this time...what was I thinking!!
  • I wish I had known there was going to be a House Price Boom, would of got on the market any which way then.

And that I still owned the house I bought for £24k 10 years ago with a £180 a month mortgage, which is now worth about £120k...where's the 'crying' smilie?

I wish I had known when I was 18 years old and first got into debt that it was a really stupid bloody idea and I would still be paying it back when I was nearly 30!

How has it taken me 12 years to realise that all you have to do is live within your means?

I wish I'd have known not to trust the DCA chasing a loan from Abbey.

Being a Naive and newly single mum, i remortgaged my home to pay my debts, they said they'd accept 10k to settle, i didn't have this much and paid close to 8k stupidly thinking that at a later date they would accept 2k to settle - they wouldn't!

I'm still paying 6 years later!!

I also wish i'd have known about this website and took advice before passing this money onto them!

Wish I'd known that getting married, and subsequently divorced, would tarnish my credit rating loooong after the seperation, despite my attempt to sort it out.

I wish I had known that my Mum was right about credit cards, debts, car insurance, budgeting, learning to cook, managing a home, and just about everything else.

It would have been cheaper to listen to her. Sooooo much cheaper.

I wish I'd known that consumer debt wasn't just 'one of those things that everyone has', and that things only get worse if you let them drift.

    However, I'm glad I know now. :)

Wow do I know that now! :rotfl:

She really tried to teach me though, by making me pay her rent when I started work and showing me to budget for things - but then barclaycard posted me an invitation to join them through the door when I was 18 and that was that

I too will be just about 35 when our debts are finally cleared. I have SO much more respect for money now. So glad I found MSN :T
Debt Free Day - November 1st 2011 - would be a fantastic Christmas that year ((Fingers crossed I can do it)):D

If we all stood together and threw our problems up in the air - we would rather catch our own again than somebody elses :A
