I cheap boiler may not be a good long term idea. However, i have 3 Biasi boilers which have never been any bother.
  • Buy cheap, buy twice. Buy right, buy once.

Get 3 quotes, ensure all are Gas Safe Registered, then report back here.

What size boiler (i.e. what output) do you need?

  • thanks - i will be looking but as everyone we've not got much loose change for a boiler at the moment - but we will be getting a decent one as i'm not paying twice - as inmypocketsnottheirs said..
  • As with other replies. Buy cheap buy twice!!! Boilers have deals for 1 reason only and thats cuz they are not selling!! Manufacturers have a game they can play, its iether drop the price or give an extencion on the warrranty. A price Guide I would suggest for your system would be approx £2500. This would be, powerflush, new boiler, fitting to Part L, TRV'S on rads, wireless room stat and inhibitor.(New installations have to be to part L standard, if it is not fitted to this your warrante will be affected). Installer should offer 1 yr cover on the connections and you should seek at least 2 yrs manufacturers cover on the boiler. I recommend Vokera boilers (unica or linea would suit you, probably 28kw). Please note that installers sometimes get a backhander from the manufacturer, ie you get told something is good when it isnt. History has shown that the industry leaders are Vaillant and Worcester Bocsh, these boilers are the most to buy and maintain. The most important consideration to the system is how it is fitted, the best boiler in the world WILL break down if it is not fitted correctly. Please ensure the system is pre and post install cleaned and that a GOOD quality inhibitor is added. If in a hard water area get a good qualty lime scale protector and always run your boiler at slightly less than 60 degrees, a magnaclean is an exallent addition and work a dream in looking after yor system, real simple as it atracts and collects waste matter keeping your system clean and debri free. Get several quotes and ask to see there work or speek to recent customers.:j On a last note you explain that you are short on money, join the club lol. The saving you will make after the change from back boiler will pay for itself within a few years. Hope this helps. Regards, Chris
