I just buy return address labels on ebay as they are really cheap and put one on the pack of each packet as I package them up. Proably wouldn't be worth it if you are only an occasional seller but works for a business account.0

I just put my name, house number and postcode on the back of parcels. Most parcels I receive (ebay and non-ebay) don't have a return address on them. I think a lot of people just don't think of doing that.
I don't include invoices in parcels as I don't have a printer. I am a private seller so am not going to buy a printer just for ebay! I don't think I have ever glanced at the invoices that are included in ebay parcels that I have received.0 -
I do put my address on, so the question is hypothetical to me, but not to many others. Again, I see this as another failing of Royal Mail. Their T&C for compensation don't mention anything about needing to put a return address on. This may seem obvious to you and me, but not to the occasional seller who rarely sends parcels.I suppose the logical answer is that it isn't lost, RM know where it is and it is up to seller to prove item is theirs and to arrange for it to be returned to them..For the sake of a few seconds it seems rather pointless not bothering to put some sort of return details on a parcel. What is happening to the English Language? These are not isolated, but repeated every day.
'Definate', 'Aswell', 'Rediculous', 'Payed'...and the best of all 'Could Of'. How can anyone think that 'Could Of' can actually mean anything. You may as well write 'Could Zebra' for all the sense it makes.0 -

Royal Mial guidelines for people unfamiliar with the postal services does mention returns addresses in several places:

I get address labels sent to me from various charities so I always just save these and use these to stick on, if Im out then house no. and postcode does the trick

If I have loads of parcels to send, I usually just put my name, house number and post code on - sometimes, if I have the charity labels, I put them on - but like another poster above, I never print the invoice and include it in the package - I don't see the point. Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! i used to include a thank you note when i sold full time
though i was looking for return business so it had my site and email address on it
if the packaging got damaged RM could still have contacted me via my details inside0 -

I use thank you notes as well just a pre printed compliment slip sized thing that I print up myself. Depending on what other site i am pushing i add details of say ebid (stopped with that now though as I've given up there again) or my Amazon account. It carries my name and address in full and asks them to contact me in case of any problems.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Eh, I never use invoices as it's only been recently I've got the printer working again. I also only ever put the house number and postcode on - it will still get back if needed.
So, I wouldn't find it weird at all."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Everything we send has a full return address on it... but that's because Paypal print it at the top of the address label.
Anything we don't print (ie personal post, gifts etc) just has our surname, house number and postcode.Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.
