Recently I've bought a couple of quite high-value things (over £350 each). They've arived safely by Special Delivery and seem to be fine. However, neither of the sellers used the little return address sticker you get with the Special Delviery labels. In one case, there was no return address at all. In the other, the seller had written just his house number & postcode on the parcel e.g. 9, XX1 3RT. And, of course, there was no enclosure/Paypal invoice in either parcel.
It looks to me like these sellers don't want you knowing their names or addresses and makes me a wee bit wary.
What do others think?

me neither. I don't normally put the return address if recorded and low value.*_*_* Department of Redundancy Department *_*_*0

I only either bother with my house number and postcode, thats all royal mail need to return the item to me if its not delivered
I also dont bother with an invoice in the envolope with my private listings, its a waste of paper, i never read them when im sent them they go straight in the recycle bin.
With the new recorded and special stickers, if you go in to the post office they often dont give you the bit to write your name on
I wouldnt find this suspicous im the slightest0 -

This needs expanding on. If the item ends up in Belfast which is neither where the seller nor buyer wants it to be, then how would not paying compensation be justified.not if it tracks as returned to Belfast
why would they compensate you? What is happening to the English Language? These are not isolated, but repeated every day.
'Definate', 'Aswell', 'Rediculous', 'Payed'...and the best of all 'Could Of'. How can anyone think that 'Could Of' can actually mean anything. You may as well write 'Could Zebra' for all the sense it makes.0 -
When I send things Recorded Delivery the man in the post office just scans the bar code on the sticker, passes it to me and I stick it on the parcel, before they used to confirm the address when you gave them the house number and postcode but now they don't see what the address is.
I always write my name, house number and postcode on the back of parcels, I've had items back with just that information, RM will just look up the postcode and house number and return it.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

I suppose the logical answer is that it isn't lost, RM know where it is and it is up to seller to prove item is theirs and to arrange for it to be returned to them..For the sake of a few seconds it seems rather pointless not bothering to put some sort of return details on a parcel.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. well you didnt put a return address
RM attempted delivery, nobody answered or collected so it is returned to sender
you choose not to have a return address so RM send it to Belfast and scan it as such
so you think after all that RM should pay you for not having a return address?
if the seller 'doesnt want it' in Belfast then the seller should put a return address on it
Belfast costs RM money to run and you think after that you should be compensated?0 -
When I sold a load of things 2 years ago (like 200+) I didn't have the time/energy or inclination to write my name/address/postcode on the reverse!! I just put surname, house no and postcode as this would get it back to me.
