How Do I Work Around This Vodafone Problem?

This is my situation.
I am on a 12 month contract which ends in October. With Vodafone you can upgrade 2 months before.
(I did this last year and currently have a tocca ultra).
I get married in July, and wanted an iphone to use while on the beach in the Maldives.
I was going to buy an ipod touch, but thought whats the point when I can get an iphone in August.
How can I get an iphone in July without having to cancel my current £35 a month contract with Vodafone for the last 4 months?
I like Vodafone and have had the same number for 8 years, so really want to stick with them and keep same number.
Any ideas how I can get an iphone in July without spending money on cancelling contracts etc?
I dont mind paying for the iphone!

buy one on payg when your contract finishes change it to a sim only (usually £20pm-ish cheaper)
    Yes Your Dukeiness :D
  • When I say I am willing to pay for phone, I didnt mean the full cost!
I want a deal with a contract so I can pay between £100-£200 for the phone! (Which I was going to spend on an ipod touch)
    Thanks!

Paying the full cost is going to be the only way. There are no cheap iPhones. Your contracts not up for renewal so you're only left with the option of buying one on payg, sorry. . .

By the time you want it, the new iPhone will be out and you'll probably not want the current iPhone again... I'd wait it out for a bit, then maybe stump up the cost of a new iphone, or by that time the current 3gs will be cheaper..

Also, make sure you change the setting that allows the ipohne to download data in the background (for weather apps etc) otherwise you'll run up a huge bill whilst on your honeymoon

    Hi sheffieldsaddler

    Congratulations!

I can look into what options are available to you on your account if you send me an email from here with a link to this thread and your username. Make sure when you send it that you include the code WRT135 in the subject line so it comes straight to us.

P.S - I'd love to go to the Maldives - Is there room for one more in the suitcase?? :)

    All the best
