well its all sorted now i got the log in screen after it done a repair and its fine but iam concerned as to what could have happened
the lap tops gaurentee runs out in may, do you guys think there may be anything seriously wrong ?

Sounds like it got confused coming out of hibernation. I'd turn it off and on a few times, use it for a bit and try and put in hibernation then wake it up and see if it works fine.0

Technically you don't have a problem. If you call them they won't really be able to help as the problem isn't occurring right now. I'd suggest backing up your data while the PC is on and working.
