Best broadband option using NTL phone line?

I was wondering if anyone can give me any good advice as I'm completely confused.
I'm trying to sort out a broadband connection for my parents who have an ntl telephone line. They used to have ntl broadband but stopped that because the connection was so slow (almost as slow as my dial up connection here in Ireland). So ntl broadband isn't an option. They also refuse to consider changing their telephone provider....
So can anyone advise? They don't require anything fancy as they mainly use it for emails and browsing the web - they don't download anything in general.

You're only option is to get NTL broadband if you have an NTL line.
What are their concerns over a BT line?0 -
Perhaps they like paying NTL 6p connection each time they make a phone call.:D0

I think their concerns over changing from NTL is the hassle - they are oaps after all! lol
I've been looking around and it looks like Talk Talk do a good deal so gonna investigate that further and talk them into changing telephone provider if necessary. Just gonna have to use my charm to talk them around!0 -

I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you port an NTL number to BT then you can't take advantage of the unbundled exchange deals, i.e. Talk Talk. If your folks want to take advantage of the Talk Talk deal they will need an "original" BT number, unless of course their NTL number was originally ported from BT?
I may be talking out the top of my head but I'm sure I read this was the case.0
