I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I just looked at BT's website. They no longer offer an Evening and Weekend Plan to new customers. It's just the Weekend and Anytime Plans.

Is that the one that is "free" but locks you in for 12 months? My 12 months is coming up for renewal next month - does this mean I have to pay for it?
Thinking about leaving BT anyway. TalkTalk (or others) are so much cheaper it's tough to say no.0 -
It's not 'free', it's inclusve with your line rental of £11.54. The vast majority of telecoms contracts are minimum 12 months. TalkTalk will lock you in for 18 months. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I would think that existing customers who renew their contracts, will still have this deal available to them. This must be just for new customers. But if you were to leave BT, then change your mind and return, you would only be offered the Weekend and Anytime plans, I think.0

I doubt it. It's a clear attempt to move more people off the inclusive tarifs and on to Anytime at £4.99.
BT are in deep financial doo-doos and are trying every possible tactic to increase their turnover. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Macman - so you don't think existing customers will be offered the evening and weekend plan again? my renewal is in June. Will we be forced then to choose between the weekend and anytime plans.0

Yes, I think so-but why don't you check with BT?
Heinz will certainly know and may be along shortly. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

However, I will have to find out first hand in the course of the next few weeks when I attempt to get a phone line set up for an elderly relative (who currently has the E&W plan) moving in nearby.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
If you already have the inclusive E&W plan then you should receive a letter offering to renew it for another 12 months approx one month before your current contract expires.
I don't know how long it will be available for seeing as it is not available to new customers.0 -

BT have introduced a new system based on the popular "Find a Calling Plan" game. Winners (who can be new or existing customers) get a wider choice of Plans and the chance to make extra savings. Start at "Terms and Conditions" at the bottom this page:
