o2 sim only

Morning all
just a quick one my sis has just txt me she is off to buy a new phone today she is on a sim only contract yesterday she went into the o2 shop they told her it wont work as she will need to top up the phone wih the new number otherwise it wont work??

ive never had a sim only contract but surly this is not the case otherwise how do u ever get a new phone ??

if she is buying a PAYG phone they normally now make you buy a minimum top up with the phone , if she factors that £10 or £20 into the price when she buys the phone then there is nothing to stop her putting the simplicity sim card in the phone as soon as shes out the shop. at her leisure she can use up the £10 top up on the phone by putting that sim in ANY unlocked or O2 phone (ie..her old phone)

Most sim's are sent out with a 'transit block' on them (in case they go walk about before getting to you). To get the block off just call CS and confirm who you are and they'll remove the block...
