Save another £5 on iPhone simplicity plan..

Don't know if this is common knowledge but I saw the post on the homepage stating that o2 now do an iPhone specific simplicity tariff.

I used to be on the 1 month 'Online Simplicity 20' tariff (600 mins, 1,200 texts) with the unlimited web bolt on (which they no longer offer). I called up retentions to tell them I wanted to switch to vodafone as they have a similar plan but with iPhone data and Visual Voicemail, the rep told me they could put me on an iPhone tariff with the same minutes and texts for the same price if I stayed with o2.

I took it, the next day my visual voicemail worked, I checked in with o2, I have 600 inclusive minutes each month still, 1,200 texts still and my monthly charge is £20... This plan is listed as £25 on the o2 website.

Although you get unlimited texts by chosing the standard iPhone simplicity plan I don't think I'll ever send more than 1,200 in a month.


I think the key is to quote another providers *online* sim only plan when you ask to move as they always include more minutes. if they don't bite you could always consider going to vodafone anyway!

You can get the 600mins unlimited texts and unlimited data wifi for £20 by getting the 12 month simplicity for iphone tariff too. Obviously you have to stay with O2 for 12 months though.

1200 texts are better than the unlimited texts, you can use them to send messages abroad and MMS for free, both are charageable on the new tariffs
