30 days notice even when requesting PAC?

I just called 3 to get my PAC to move to O2 (I'm in month 11 of the contract) and the lady I spoke to told me my contract will be cancelled on 24th August.

I asked if the T&C had changed as last year I took a PAC from 3 and there was no need for 30 days notice, the contract ended when the number was transferred. I was billed up to the end of the 12 month contract of course but I was expecting that.

Does anyone know if what I was told is correct and when this changed?

As far as I know, requesting a PAC is like giving 30 days notice. If the number actively gets swapped in under 30 days, then you have to pay the line rental for the remainder of the period.

I.e. Day1 - Request PAC
Day2 - Inform O2
Day7 - Number swaps to O2
Day8 to Day30 - Line Rental Charge

yep.... I got caught out by this as well.

Requested my PAC code from Orange well beyond the end of my 12 month contract.

Phoned them in the first week of the month to serve notice and request my PAC. As the PAC was received before the 30 days was up they gleefully charged me £30 (1 months rental)...... Crafty b@st@rds.
