how long before I have to give feedback?

Long story short - bought a book - received in a jiffy bag - postie bent it in half across the spine to get it through the door.
New book - not new anymore and badly damaged.
Seller has put in a claim - I've heard nothing. She still has my money. It wouldn't have happened if the book was properly packaged.
It's a month now - how long before I can't leave feedback? How long do I give her before I leave negative feedback?
Thanks
Sarah

Negative feedback for posting a book in a Jiffy bag? You must be joking!!!

    Postie at fault not seller.

Have you sent the book back? Have you contacted in the last month, a claim doesn't happen overnight.

I wouldn't be so inclined to leave the seller negative feedback. A jiffy bag for a book seems very reasonable IMO.

I would contact the seller again.

I buy a lot of books on Ebay & Amazon, the majority arrive in Jiffy Bags, never had any damaged but if I did it would be the Postie's throat I went for not the seller.
Posties in my neck of the woods are not the brightest light bulb in the house, we taped up the inside of our letter box last winter to stop draughts and fixed a post box to the fence instead, Postie ignored box and 'forced' mail through the taped letter box until the it ripped, result mail stuck to sticky tape hanging inside the door, not easy to do cos we tried it to see how hard he had to shove to burst it, and he did the same several times until we removed the letter box on the outside too and I pointed out the letter box to him. :-D
Leave the seller good feedback if the book was as you expected and kill the Postie for damaging it. ;-)

what exactly do you suggest is proper packaging for a book? A big box stuffed with bubblewrap?

I'd say the seller's done nothing wrong. If it had got lost and she was claiming from the Post Office, then she should refund you immediately and not make you wait. But she's fulfilled her side of the transaction.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Have you contacted her to ask what is happening? Perhaps she is patiently sitting there waiting for the refund and thought you were doing the same! Perhaps she has never dealt with a situation like this before and hasn't realised that some sellers refund the buyer and then wait for the compensation?

i agree that a jiffy is adequate packaging for a book - complain at your post office about the daft postie, and leave +ive feedback :)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

It's not the seller's fault that your postie is a numpty!

I don't think a neg for the seller is at all justified.

contact the seller again it takes forever to claim of the RM (well a few weeks, seems the people in their offices are about as good as the Posties) but she should have refunded u.

if u paid by paypal start a dispute that might get her talking

maybe a neutral for the poor packing i always make sure there is lots of stiff cardboard either side of books as i have recieved a few damaged books off sellers and its dissapointing but dont leave feedback until u have ur money back
