  • Hi folks, new to this forum but have had a succession of Oticon aids over the years and now have an Oticon Zest with Open Fit. This is set to the limit according to my NHS audiologist. She says that a RIC may be able to increase the volume for me. Does anyone know whether a RIC is available for the Zest, or is it that it is not available yet to my particular audiology dept. Generally they seem to offer a pretty good service.

It's now exactly one month since I had my ENT appointment and got my hearing aid moulds made. I was told I'd be sent a letter with an appointment date/time when they were ready ... should I be concerned that I haven't heard anything? Is it worth phoning someone?

I knew I should've asked for an approximate timeline at my appointment, d'oh!

Yes, give threm a call first thing in the morning. It may be something as simple as the letter having been posted by them, but not yet delivered to you.
  • :hello: Our little 2yo boy has been wearing aids for almost a year now, he has clear moulds and bright blue aids ;) He was diagnosed with ANSD shortly after coming home, and initially it was thought that he was severely if not profoundly deaf; he has an annoying habit of refusing to co-operate with the VRA tests :rotfl: However as time has progressed, he has started to show some reaction to normal-volume sound at higher frequencies, so hopefully the testing will now be more towards determining what he can hear and what needs re-pitching.

Hiya, Sorryy I missed ur post ( lost the thread lol) I bet ur son's Blue Aids stand out well :) Sorry what is ANSD ? It's brill that too he deafness isnt as bad as first thought. The VRA tests are soo fun lol, Lily tends to zone out and forget she's ment to press the button now she's moved onto normal testing lol

I've just got a new Phonak Cassia and I just cannot believe how good it is.

Always had Starkey aids before and just about got by with them, but this is amazing.

I'm very deaf and only have the one aid as there's apparently nothing to amplify in my left ear. I can now hear sounds I never knew existed and can really recommend this aid.
