In my (limited) experience the traffic light camera will clearly show the driver
Not if it is located behind the vehicle at the junction....

  • I would just like to ask... Do red light cameras cover both sides of the road? As there is one near me which has the cuts in the road after the line where they put the sensors in the road on the side where the camera is. On the opposite side of the road there is no cuts in the road.

The one I got, (coincidentally from a set of lights in the middle of Exeter) was most like the last one in your link but was much clearer and clearly showed that I (rather than my OH) was driving

They cover 1 direction- the direction to which the camera is facing the traffic lights and white line.

I'll rephrase that then. In the safety camera partnership covering the area I love in, the red light cameras only arm 1 second after red.

You may have more to worry about than being caught running a stop.;)

Just tell the truth and take your fine - I find it very hard to believe that given the known location and time of the incident you cannot work out who was driving

If as I guess it was your step daughter and you are worried about the effect the points will have on her (presumably) already more expensive car insurance then ask for the picture and take it from there. Just guessing of course....
