O2 Data Charges
Options
Is anyone else being charged by O2 for date but not actually using it? Since Jan i have had data charges on my bill i have not used. Checking the detail it seems like there is some kind of pattern to the timings eg always 0:00:00 and late evening. I can prove i was working and not using the phone but O2 are dragging their heels in answering my complaint.

I recall reading a page once about iphone sending 3g usage data at midnight.0 -
00:00 is the time that the network has found web use, not the time that web use has taken place.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

There was a thread not so long ago about someone who went to canada and ran up a stupidly high bill, as the iPhone is constantly downloading data.. its the apps and smartphone stuff, for example if you have a weather app, itll dload the date to keep it up to date
There's an option to turn this off in the settings somewhere. However, if you turn it off, you kinda lose the best part of the iPhone - the apps, or at leats the functionality of some of the apps.
Why not pay £5 for an internet bundle, not sure about your network, but it's £5 for 500mb on orange.0 -
I think o2's data package is £7.50, which is a bit extreme. It's £3 on 3 !Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

£2.50, but that gives you a whole 10MB.
And o2's new data package is £5, which is unlimited and also includes Wi-Fi access to The Cloud and BT Openzone.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Well there is no limit if that's what you mean, although if you take the pee or use it as a modem then you'll get a text advising you you're taking the pee and request you cut back. I've seen people use upwards of 3-5GB each month on their Iphone fine.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
