ta for all the help i've tried the usb in a different port and it seems to be working ok at the moment i'll see how it goes

Sorry to start this thread going again.

My issue is wireless mouse playing up so thought it was batteries but when cursor played up this am , tried to move it with mousepad on the laptop and it won't move.

Cursor stuck in bottom left corner.

Did manage to get it to bring up a box and sure I saw a tick at taskbar locked - not sure if relevant.

Switched off by pressing power on/off button (couldnt do it properly) and then switched on and started normally. Can't get beyond first logon screen now as cant move the mouse to click on my log on icon.

Help!

Doing this on neighbours computer but got job applications to do and cant use laptop....argh

Have you tried a wired mouse?

Is the trackpad disabled (common option on laptops to avoid accidental cursor moves and clicks)?

About to get an old one out the drawer when realised I could use one of the kids wireless ones and guess what...it worked. AND the mousepad works too......:o

Will see how that goes but still dont understand how both mouse pad and other wireless mouse cursors froze completely!

Thanks for help folks. WIll lookinto the disabling of the trackpad so I know how to check in future (perhaps I accidentally did that once cursor was first stuck???)

Anyway, fingers crossed just a blip..
