also try Dunnes stores if you have one near you. They have nice soft pretty cotton ones in 'teen' sizes. I think they do a 31-32" and 33-34" size back, both with a little slightly padded cup.0

I took my DD to La Senza to be measured, they are usually younger staff than M & S and relate better to a teen.
I hope the assistant at M & S gets what's coming to her she sounds awful and should not be near customer particularly sensitive teens.0 -

I hope they feed back what they find to you. Some customer service depts do this and some dont. LEt us know what they say if they do feed back to you.
A little bit funny - did you notice your 2 posts were posted at exactly the same time on each day?Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

i find Primark have a good selection of bras and sets very reasonable too and good if you return anything. On the period thing my DD is now 14 she started last year ,I put a little kit together ahead of time for when she started ,glad i did because it always comes unexpected, and it was easy to discuss things to at the same time.
ps. Would have ripped into that woman at m s just imagine the harm to DD comments like that .0 -
I caught this mail and wanted to say how disgusted I was with that woman in M&S talking to your daughter like that. It has made me so angry and a complaint is definately in order to both the store and Head Office. I sell underwear for all sizes and would never talk to anyone who some to see me to be measured like that as I remember my experience so well. I have never bought at M&S as the fit on them is horrendous anyway!
Can I also point out that your girls should not have to remove their clothing at all, measuring over a T-shirt or light shirt (Obviosly not a jumper) is more than sufficent so if your girls do not want to take their clothes off then they should not have to at all and should not feel obliged to. Heck, it is embarrassing for them enough. Obviously try it on if you can - and best to try on - if you get home and a bra does not fit make sure you leave the tags on and don't keep a bra that doesn't fit, take it back and change it and make sure the store will let you do this as when you are home and have a better chance to try you might find you are not happy with it after all. I always let the girls do this, it does make me laugh though how many mums drag their daughters in looking looking all flushed saying 'choose, you need it, how about this one, this one, this one, while their daughter just stand there bright red'. Bless - it does make me smile inside though.
For all of you with youngsters I wanted to tell you about a brand called Miss Lepel, if you Google it you'll find who sells them (I don't, I only sell plain ones) I am not so sure. They are more expensive than M&S but lots of pretty styles and they start at a 28AAA and yes, no wires for the younger girls while their bodies are developing, it is better they are not rubbing. It is nice to get them a couple of sets for Xmas or birthdays as some of them are really cute, and they do little vest sets as well and it just makes your teenager feel a little special. I have a daughter of 14 and at 12 she was trying to get me to let her wear padded bras and I refused point blank - she is nearly 15 and I have relented but would not recommend them for sport - a good sports bra is the best thing to wear.
The girls these days are defintely getting bigger. I wonder why, if it is food additives maybe or lifestyle but lots of girls now are a size 8-10 with E, F and even bigger chests so something is happening out there with our bodies - I find it really odd myself on why everyone is changing and why girls are developing so young and are having such huge chests. I guess you usually tie up larger chest sizes with being overweight but this is not the case - they are going to be selling 28J band sizes from this month so can you imagine!! And there is a market for them so you have to wonder what is happening to the female body and why the change. The other thing I have noticed as well is the number of girls of 18-20 who have come to get new undies as they have had implants. I see at least 4 or 5 a week and I open just on Saturdays - where on earth do they get the money and what are their parents thinking? They can have some of mine, LOL!!
I hope this helps and no one sees this as spam or anything, I am a regular poster on all the boards but just wanted to give some input on this subject. I hope no one minds.0 -

When did your girls start getting curves?
my DD is 11 (almost 12) and we just got her her first bra - 30AA and she's very proud. But she has no curves at all, looks like an ironing board with a couple of lumps - bless her.
But shes very up with all the period stuff - we're all ready to go when it happens - but when i broached the subject she knew all about it - and that was last year just after she turned 10.
Suprised me how much she knows - and yet still acts like a 3 year old when her dad is around

Wishingonastar, I've just read what the woman in M&S said to your daughter and it's made me feel really angry. I hope she gets a decent apology and maybe some flowers from them. What a horrible experience.
I don't know your daughter, but I'd say it's a credit to both you and her that she managed to go to another store to get what she needed, rather than run away and hide. Good for her!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
