You have to drag the little yellow man to the pushpin on your postcode and then fine tune from there

Here is my 'new' house http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=me12+4dt&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=11.562655,39.506836&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Sheerness,+Kent+ME12+4DT,+United+Kingdom&ll=51.405492,0.862016&spn=0.000751,0.002411&z=19&layer=c&cbll=51.405584,0.862031&panoid=5zUKUSTqqnpyQl6EDH6yug&cbp=12,45.29,,0,3.7

Found mine! Hedge hasn't been cut (there's a surprise!) but the image is at least 3 years old judging on the cars outside the house.0

Regarding people saying their house image is very old, the update is for coverage not for more recent shots as far as I know.0
-
Oh dear - ours was done when we had a skip outside to do some clearing! And there is a join in the photo that makes it look as if the house is falling down!0
-
Fascinating for home hunters and others.
:)
Only to an extent!
I wouldn't rely on it for more than just getting a feel for the road a property is in - my house is now up and the image must be from around August 2008, a couple of months before we exchanged as the for sale sign is still there. The house looks nothing like that now.
I like streetview though, its pretty useful for all sorts of things. Perving etc :rotfl:0 -
Thanks - ours is now on there although the overhead shots are still at least 3 years old. The streetview shots were done early 2009 by the looks as we changed cars April 09 and old one is on drive
I think its a great tool when used with overhead shots for house buying to give a feel for the street scene. One thibg you usually can't tell without viewing a house is the proximity of other houses and the general street scene including hills etc0 -
