I find it useful tool for looking at an area not just house buying. Until today I found bing maps better with there birds eye view but street view is even better

Have to agree the Birds Eye view by Bing is brilliant
  • Oh no........my street is on it now and im in the middle of nowhere!?! I hadn't realised how bad my drive is.....embarassing
My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say ;)
    Ignore......check!

Mine is on there too....and it actually looks quite smart! I would guess it was done maybe last summer, looks to be a summer ish day and there is lots of greenery.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Looks like 99% of the UK is now done apart from the odd street. Awesome.

Okay, first to post... this is my house...

    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=OX14+4QQ&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=12.709674,43.286133&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Abingdon,+Oxfordshire+OX14+4QQ,+United+Kingdom&ll=51.638343,-1.216435&spn=0.006512,0.021136&z=16&layer=c&cbll=51.638407,-1.216324&panoid=RkjPZtpjJlzSd80rVS6qdg&cbp=12,140.42,,0,5.64

Ironically if it had been available on Streetview we'd probably have been concerned about the knackered caravan and pickup - as it is these have gone and now our car is the dodgiest looking one :). Good to know we're bringing down the tone of the area!

Thanks for letting us know! My eldest (who's home sick from school) & I have spent the last 1/4 hour 'visiting' all her friends. It does look as if everywhere has been done as they even have a friend's house who live down a green lane in a very remote hamlet!! I never thought the Streetview was going to be that widespread, it's great tho & will make any future house hunting so much easier :j

Our place looks lovely, it was obviously taken on one of the very few hot, sunny days last year.

Can see our local football team playing in the park, so obviously a weekend. Even seen a couple of people I know walking round the village. Spooky.

Edit. Ha ha, just seen my boss at work slipping out for a fag.
    Been away for a while.

Our new/current street (since July last year) is on now - the area/estate hadn't been on earlier this week. Looks like the images may have been taken spring/summer 2008, as what is our current house was vacant this time last year, but it looks like it has curtains up on the streetview, and the gardens and trees around are all very green.

Our old street had been on a while, including the burnt out house opposite which we feared would put potential buyers off when we had it on the market last year - but the images don't show the 'tidying up' works I did prior to marketing the hosue (new driveway gates, painted garage door, door surround etc.) so suspect it may be from the same sort of period (spring/summer 2008).
  • While we were in our old house last year I saw the car out of my upstairs window so I was worried I would be in the photo! Luckily there is a huge tree so our old house is completely hidden! But my car is in it!

My dad's old house is on and his car is parked outside it - a bit sad as it is a year this weekend since he died. So it must have been before March and it looks a sunny day! I freaked out a bit as there is an ambulance in the pic pulling away from the road opposite his house and a car like the MIL's is parked on the road so I was worried it was the day he died, but then I realised she has a different coloured roof!

My auntie is stood in her front garden and from the look on her face she was wondering what this black car was doing down her quiet cul de sac!
