Update:
OK so it wasn't very pleasant to be honest. Although I know not to take it too personally it does seem to me that the redundancies they are making are specific and not related to the job, but I guess that's my bitter opinion at the moment!
So what are they offering, one weeks pay per year of service so 12 and 3 months pay on lieu which is being paid as a ex-gratia payment making it all tax free. I don't think I accrue any holidays for the notice period as effectively I am not working my notice.
They want me to stay til then end of April so I have a month or so to think about what to do next.
I did mention the fact that there were two people with the same job description in the department and how could they justify making me redundant with no selection criteria, after all I am the senior one there.
We shall see what they say in the next week or so.
What do people think, is this a good package? :exclamati0 -

1 week per year is a poor payoff. I got 4 weeks pay per year when I was made redundant in 2007.
In fact our package (quite a lot of us, 100 mile office relocation which I and others turned down) was 4 weeks pay per year of service (pro rata for complete months) plus an extra 2 weeks per year of service for every year over aged 40 (again months pro rata).
Probably very generous - a 45 year old after 12 years service would get 12 x 4 plus 2 x (45-40) = 58 weeks pay, first £30k tax free.
I also walked straight into another job as a contractor (no redundancy, sick pay, pension or holiday pay) and I still have my payoff in the bank. But things were better for most, job wise, in 2007. If it happened now, I doubt I would be so fortunate,0 -
I am little bit confused about 12 years leave and which type of the other holiday count in this leave. But here solve my all query and today i really know about my leave. So, i complete my 12 years and go for few day leaving.
Thanks,
