Another cashback claim question - duplicate bills?

Hello!
Are duplicate copies of bills (with duplicate across the top in big letters) still counted as original bills?
To cut a long story short: I took out an Orange contract with themobileoutlet and a few weeks later another one with coolnewmobile. Orange combined them onto one account ("as they are essentially the same company", not strictly true but we've discussed this here before). Now that they are charging £3 for the duplicate copies (which take too long to arrive for my cashback claims) I have finally managed to get them to separate the phone numbers onto two different accounts each with it's own bill. So problem solved, I hope, unless duplicate bills don't count as original bills in which case I'm in an expensive mess!

I can’t remember exactly but I think somebody here or on rpoints tried to claim their cashback from themobileoutlet using a “duplicate” bill. They did not get the month in which the bill was shown as a duplicate, back. They disagreed with this and contacted the company. In the end they were refunded a partial refund instead of the full refund (they were happy with something, rather than nothing) all because the bill was shown as a “duplicate”.
Companies that don’t pay claims which says duplicates are not valid should be avoided in my opinion. I don’t (and neither should the cashback companies) see the different between the bill that you get sent (original) and the duplicate that you ask for (apart from duplicate being printed on?).It should have all the information on there that should have been on the first (original) bill sent to you. I can understand it if they said they don’t accept copies (i.e. photocopies that you may do) as sometimes they may not come out right or some part of the bill may be missing that may be important to the claim, otherwise they are trying to find any hole to escape from pay out and not pay out.
Having no experience of dealing with duplicate bills and themobileoutlet, I would say fight your corner (easier said than done) and win the full amount and accept nothing less or else resort to legal action if needs be. I have dealt with coolnewmobile but not with duplicates. Hopefully, they should be alright for your claim.0
