AOL contract renewal?

Been having a few calls for husband from AOL, he's working away at the moment so I asked if there was a problem at all. They said the contract was up for renewal - we have been with them for at least 3 years (I know, we've never had a problem) and they say it is about to expire?
I was under the impression that after the initial 18months it was a rolling contract.
They wont discuss ANYTHING with me, hubby is worlking away and in fact knows next to nothing about t'internet - we were vaguely considering switching but vcan only get very low speeds so cant take advantage of SKY ofer etc.
Amyone else had this? come the day will it be a disconnection or else sign up for another year or whatever? Altho we are quite happy with them i dont want to feel i am locked in for longer as we are having house improvements and hoping to have wireless when they are finished
Thanx in advance

It is a minimum term contract, they don't disconnect you after 18 months! What they're probably trying to do is offer you a slightly better rate but that will then lock you into another minimum term contract.
Do an exchange search and look at your LLU options on www.samknows.com, these will be the best prices.
Low speeds have nothing to do with Sky prices, it relates to what ISP's are available LLU on your exchange. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
