I have a test tomorrow, I had to change instructors to a new one because my old instructor quit in the middle of my lessons due to family reasons and she told me after the cut off date to cancel my test without losing the fee which was saturday!
Had a new instructor today and im panicking because his car is much older, im used to driving in diesel cars, not petrol so i have had adapt the way i normally do my maneovres and I keep making stupid mistakes like putting the clutch too high up and stalling
Now im panicking im going to stall throughout my test tomorrow! I am doing a 2 hour lesson before my test tomorrow afternoon...
Does anyone have any tips??

Yes, do your best, if you fail take it again, no big deal.0 -
I agree with the above poster. Just try your best and look on it as good experience.
I would be tempted to see if your old instructor would pay for a retake as they left you in the lurch.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Hiya, dont normally post however feel for you. It must seem like the world on your shoulders at the moment, but remember "its just" a driving test. Yes its a important life event but nothing bad will happen if you fail. Take some deep breathes and put it in prospective. I'm sure you'll be fine. If you wanna chit chat just pm me and I'll log on to facebook or something...good luck!:beer:0

Squeeze your accelerator more. The engine should be singing nicely (not screaming ) just before moving away.
Shame on your old instructor. Not only for leaving you high and dry at the worst possible moment, but for not teaching you how to drive any car, not just a diesel. Let me guess, did she teach you to manoeuvre using the biting point whilst pressing hard on the footbrake? Did she teach you to perform steep uphill starts in the same wrong manner whilst never using the handbrake? Believe me, I know a lot of lazy instructors who teach this shocking method just because it's easier for them, but it leaves their pupils in a right old pickle when they switch to a petrol car.0 -
Dont start trying to take on any of the helpful tips you'll get from now to your test.
Your mind will be full of enough without taking in anything else.
You can drive. If you couldnt, you would never have applied to sit your test.
I'm an excellent driver/rider and even I failed my car AND bike test first time.
It's no big deal.0 -
Well doing my maneovres, she taught me to only use the gas pedal when doing them but now this instructor is telling me that because it is a petrol vehicle, i need to use the gas! So sometimes I rev so hard, but I obviously need to work on that!
I very much doubt my old instructor would pay for a retest, she has the 'if you fail, its your fault' attitude, which in a sense is true but had i had the lessons everyday like i said i feel that i would need, I am sure I wouldnt feel as bad as I do now. I told her the last day for me to cancel and get a refund, she could have told me then, not after!
I find that at times that I either let go off the clutch too early and stall or take too long to take my foot off the clutch because im scared of stalling! Its always one thing with me or the other!
Its not like I have serious issues, they are stupid issues that could cost me a 'fail''Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut':j0 -

Oh gosh! I have my bike test to sit after this, (end of the year or next year) and I want to learn how to ride more than drive so i better get my nerves under control by then! lol'Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut':j0 -
