See that's what I asked for when I rung up Picture, I wanted copies of my policy, I started off by telephoning Norton who said its nothing to do this us you have to phone Picture and this is what I recieved today, its the same documents as I had with my loan paperwork.

Looks like I need to contact them again I am also going to ask them to confirm the date they "sold" to policy to me ! as I dam sure it was them and not Norton. I think Norton have stitched me up by their standard reply letter which the FSCS have taken as accepting responsibility for the original sale !!!!

Sorry to have gone on at you, but I am sure you know what is like ....one get all a bit desparate :(

Thanks again for your help Di :)

Right, sorry to be asking you questions, but it will save me scrolling LOL.

What year did you take out the loan?

And I take it then it was Norton Finance who set this up for you?

If these were not members when you taken this out: of either GISC before the FSA came in - in Jan 2005, then the FOS will not be able to investigate, they can only investigate complaints who were members of these regulators.

Many of us have been caught in this situation, where the broker was not members or they went bust etc.

So due to this the FOS are also trying to make the insurers responsible, because when the broker have been setting this up, all your details are sent to the insurer to have them checked for eligibility, so they do still actually have some involvement in this.

I would then in your case if you cannot make a claim with Norton (for instance they were not covered when you taken the finance out), request they send you the details of the "Insurer Only" or the lender Picture can send these details to you.

So if you ring the FOS, you need to explain your situation, and tell them you don't know what direction you should be taking and ask what they think you should do.
It seems that they have been telling people to pursue through the insurer instead, because if they don't accept any liability then the FOS are able to investigate against the insurer, because these would have had to been covered.

Sorry if this have confused you........:o.

    Hey Clare, do not worry.:)

I can fully understand where your coming from here.

I hope the above post I just posted will be of some help to you.

But I must agree, I was all over the place with one of mine, the business dissolved, known as Click Finance, but the annoying thing was, they still continue to run other loan groups......., same director/manager as well.
How they manage to get out of it I do not know.

This is why I have finally gone the insurer direction.

(oh it was the lender Endeavour that provided me with the policy details).

As soon as I know the year you taken this out, I will try to do some digging for you.;)

Loan was taken out in August 2006 so hopefully were covered ?

You not confused me, just lots to take in and I don't want to keep barking up the wrong tree, if you know what I mean, and waste more time. I honestly thought I was well on my way when FSCS accepted my claim and undertook initial enquiries.

Anyway think, I will call it a day on this tonight (not that I doubt I will sleep again !) and revisit in the morning and re read, makes some notes and ring FOS as you have suggested.

Thanks you very much, feels so encouraging when someone shows an interest and trys to help. Such a fabby website, turned me from a lurker to a poster ;)

    Bless you.:A

You have a good nights sleep now.;)
And a little info below for you X

Right then in this case you will not have to go the insurer direction, you then write to reclaim directly with Norton Finance, they would have been covered, and also make them aware you have been informed by receiving advice to pursue through these.
Or to take the burden totally off you, the FOS will write a letter to them on your behalf.
    Hope this helps.

They will not mess about with the FOS.;)

    Your very welcome.

    Its my pleasure Clare.;)

Seems like you've had a very tough time of things, luckily my hubby have found new employment after a year, since the last steelworks he worked for closed their doors and it was certainly difficult, so I do know and understand how you feel.

I am also a full time carer for my youngest son, now age 15 he has Aspergers Syndrome and Anxiety disorder, all the best to you and your family.:AXX
