Hi there
Sorry to hear this.
However there are a few in the same position as yourself here where the FOS have therefore suggested writing to the insurer instead as they are also trying to make them repsonsible too.
I would ring the FOS and ask if they think you could go this direction, they have suggested this to others on here.
The insurers would have been governed to what I am aware of so its another avenue to take.
I have one in with the FOS at the moment waiting to be passed on for adjudication against the insurer, also due to the business dissolved in 2006, this loan was taken out in 2004 and settled in 2005.
Give them a ring, and also ask if they have the details of the insurer, if they do not then write to Norton to request for the policy details they will be shown on them.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Clare.
Hi Clare......
I don't think they were, I will try to find out from Anychance about this, but I did not think Picture was an actual insurer.
The FOS may know though.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks Di,
Was just a hypothetical question really, trying to cover all avenues for my own claim.
I asked Picture to send me a copy of my policy documents, the name on the documents is Picture and can not see who the actual "insurer" is ???
Thanks again

Hi Clare
How annoying that is.
With one of mine then for example, the broker was Click Finance, the lender was Endeavour, but checking on the Insurance policy details it states Hamilton as the insurer.
I would ring the FOS on this one to make sure.;)

Clare a thought have come to me.
The policy documents may not be the actual "policy insurance details".
I used to think they were all enclosed within the loan documents, but this was not the case, I had to request for the Insurance policy separately.
Even though I had all the loan documentation etc.
I would now write to them, the lender to request they send you a copy of the insurer policy details only.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Sorry to sound stupid, to be honest I am exhausted with trying to get these companies, FSCS etc to understand me. But what sort of thing should I say to the FOS.

I have left another post above.
I know exactly what you mean and how frustrating this is for you.
But I did not even know Hamilton were the insurers until I requested for the policy document on this (years later).
I am hoping Anychance will come along though and may have some ideas on this one for you too.The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Your not stupid Clare. LOL:D;) Your doing fine, and it is very exhausting.
I remember going through all this myself, when peeps used to say, request for the policy docs, I thought well I have these, then they went on to say "no" these are only sent on request, then finally I got somewhere. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
