Actually NO I WORK for the NHS, just think people shouldn't be having children if they can't look after them themselves financially. I actually believe there are some good benefits out there just not these ones!!
So, are you saying that in the days before benefits, people didn't have children?
What is the connection between whether people have children or not, and WTC?
Methinks the human race will still do what comes naturally, benefits or not. And I'd much rather live in a society that doesn't keep people in abject poverty. All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -

Would that be something like the UK is in a financial mess because of Labour, ergo it follows that the world is in a financial mess because of Labour?0 -
I have contributed to my sons child trust fund since it was first opened. if these interest rates dwindle, should i stop contributing to the CTF and contribute to the other savings account i have? all those years of saving for my son to benefit and theres no way i can transfer it to a higher paying interest account. the coalition government should allow people to close these accounts and put them into other accounts as we are trying to save for our childrens future!0

Didn't labour have something to do with the Haiti Earthquake too :rotfl:All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -

I have managed to create savings accounts for my own children's future without help from the taxpayer and if this is so important then others should do the same!0 -
This makes me laugh my twins never got it because it wasn't around then so what i did for them is 'Save' their child benefit money once a month into their own trust fund, they are our children we are given child benefit to benefit the child so why not save it one week out the month we have done it and yes we are on a low income !:AAutism isn't the end of the world just a journey to another one:A0

Not at all. There's 'in a mess' because of the banks, and 'in a mess' because Gordon couldn't resist spending on quangos, fakecharaties, expanding middle management in the NHS, and expanding the "I don't have to work because the state will pay me benefits, innit?" culture. To name just a few things.
He was doing so well until around 2000.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Whatever you think of these 'benefits' (no children myself and no need for 'perks' even if I have children in the future) and however good a parent you are, I hope that people still consider that there are children at the centre here. I am not naive enough to think that every mother will spend her HIP money on fruit and veg and I might even agree that they could be scrapped in the current economic climate, but as someone who works with young mothers and children I know that these 'extras' can be used well and appreciated and not everyone deserves scorn and disparagement. Its very easy to look down on people when you haven't walked in their shoes.
Whoever keeps posting photos of the large families on benefits - what I see is children needing protected... whatever you think of the parent/s.
Whoever has posted to say we should cut benefits after 2 or 3 children... punish the parents at the peril of the health and welfare of the children in the family.
I have grave concerns about proposals made by our new government. Taking benefits away from those that can't/don't work - what about the families that they 'support'? Whether you think they are right or wrong by claiming benefits or accepting pregnancy 'perks' - those without a voice are the ones that we should be focused on - the children of our country whose worth is immeasurable and may be silent sufferers if we crack down on their parents. Its easy to have a go at the grown ups, but have a look at who is peeking out from between their legs.
P.S Can you tell I have had a few glasses of wine before my first post (gulp!)0 -
