I rarely Buy from ebay but this evening I saw someone selling vast amounts of Oakley Sunglasses and Even though I have a suspicion these will be fake , stuck a fiver on it
To my amazement it won for only 1.20 ( +5 postage ) so can't complain much .
Unfortunatly I read the description but not the payment / delivery chart and noticed their payment plans and layout Is somewhat "borrowed" from an as of yet unknown seller to me ( something along the lines of "Summary of Designer Direct Selling Policies" )
I wouldn't be bothered that much but its a new seller who is dealing with large quantities of small goods that can go for high prices, using only personnel check or postal order
Is this safe to proceed with or should i cut my loses and accept a neg ?
Heres the auction , apologies If Against the rules

these newbies have to start sumwhere- dnt doubt until u have reason to0

Personally i would risk it, send the payment and take the chance everybodys got to start somewhere!
This seller looks like they know what they are doing though but i reckon its worth the risk as you have only spend a few pounds if it was a higher amount i would be more cautious. Good luck and let us know what happensMum to 2 beautiful daughters born Oct 05 & Oct 08

Its not just the fact there new , Its the small things that add up . Copious amounts of goods with a information template that has contradicting statements in a fair few parts of it . Also callings itself another shop ( which could also mean a NARU I suppose )
What are the guarantees though with postal order or personal cheque ? If heaven forbid he do a runner0 -
There is a NARU'd user designerdirect, they're registered in the US though.Bulletproof0

I wouldn't pay. It probably won't be long until the seller is NARU. The selling policies chart contradicts itself because under payment method it says 'I accept personal check or postal order only, paypal fees too high.' yet under fees it says 'There are none! I do not charge any fees for using PayPal or any other payment method.'
It all looks pretty suspicious to me. I wouldn't trust this seller at all.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

It all depends on whether you want to risk losing money or not. If you ar ehappy to gamble with £6 then go ahead, if not be prepared to take a neg if the seller tuns out to be genuine.
You have no protection BTW if you pay using a cheque or PO as ebay claims cost a £15 admin fee.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I dunno but the seller sounds a bit dodgy because he's soo many items on sale, and the fact the sellers a privately registered adds to my suspiscion.
The total amount adds up to £4.20, less than a fiver, I wouldn't pay for it by Paypal but by cheque because a fiver not really a lot to loose. I wouldn't risk not paying than having neg feedback fired at me becuse my whole rep will be ruined, since you are on 25 feedbacks, that's not a lot. One neg feedback will seriously pummel your %.
If you don't recieve item then wait until the seller leaves feedback first before giving a neg feedback.0 -
12helensp the private seller bit shouldn't be a worry as about 99% of users are registered as such on ebay. Until very recently you couldn't choose any other option.
However I certainly wouldn't trust a new seller with no feedback who doesn't accept paypal. The fact that he doesn't take paypal would have meant I didn't even see the auction, but the fact is the OP has bid so he either gambles the money or risks a neg if the seller does turn out to be genuine.

Thanks for the advice ts_aly2000 , Just wrote an email to the user . Can you tell me How did you manage to find all the items he sold so i can contact a few more ?
I've tried to contact him and had no reply yesterday nor today so I think it may be a little suspect
Might go for a crossed postal order , but even though its through a bank it still isn't safe though ?0
