Lying on a DMP

first of all please dont think bad of me im just thinking outloud.
We are in a DMP & its a possibility that my hubbie will be getting a payrise which will take his wage up by £200 a month. Is there anything legally stopping us from telling our DMP provider. The reason i ask is not because we want to livethe high life but it would be good to save it up for our debt & eventually offer full & final payments. I dont like lying so just looking for the repurcussions of this, will they find out? or would it be easier to tell them and pay the debt off that way?
thanks

Hi, thats exactly what i am doing, saving my extra to make f&f one day, i dont think its a bad thing as long as you are sticking to your original arrangement
I really would not worry about thisDmp Mutual Support thread member No 820 -
How long you been on your DMP??If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat.:beer:0

I can see a logic with not specifically telling them. However when your next review comes up that might be an appropriate time to mention it. Whilst you wouldn't legally have to (as DMPs are informal) if they found out that you had specifically lied to a direct question they asked they decide to stop managing your DMP.
I suppose the ony 'risk' is that if one of your creditors decides to take you to court for a CCJ you would at that point have to declare the new salary.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
When you have your yearly review will they not request to see your last 3 months wage slips along with all the usual statements etc, which would give the game away.
Alternatively, all round living costs have gone up so it's likely that you may need to increase figures on your spending outgoings so could maybe get around it that way by effectively hiding your payrise amongst your expenditure?0 -
What do they specifically ask for on your yearly review.
Would imagine they want a wage slip or two but do they ask for bank statements? If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat.:beer:0 -
My understanding after a few years on this site, is why would you creditors know that your hubby have received a payrise, unless you tell them. Also when doing reviews, you don't have to send your creditors your payslip/bank statements etc. that's not their business to know!
As Trixy mentioned, I think the only time to worry about it would be, if you end up with a CCJ and you have to show the courts your details to enable them to set an amount.....please correct me if I'm wrong people.
Good luck,

Hi,
I'm in a dmp with Payplan. In my (1st & only so far) annual review last year, all they did was go through my statement of affairs. They never asked for bank statements or payslips. With my main job I have unsociable hour payments & sometimes overtime, but this varies hugely. I have a second job with an agency, but this is not guaranteed work. I therefore base my income I tell Payplan on my minimum I would get from my main job. Payplan are not aware that I ever get paid more. The extra money i get, I am saving for my wedding, any unexpected bills & full & final settlements.
Hope this helps,
JC.

Thanks all, as i said its would be being saved for Debt nothing else but if we saved that up for a year we could effectivly pay off 2 credit cards. I know payplan arnt happy with you doing this but thats what we want to do. I pray no one takes us to court for a CCJ but if they do we will declare it. Anyway its not going to happen unless he works hard so we will have to wait & see.

They've never asked me for payslips when I've had my reviews as it's all been done over the telephone.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
