O2 Tariff Alert!!!!
Options
Guys,
I've just had multiple phone calls with O2 about their 'new and improved' iPhone tariffs. As a subscriber of the old £35 a month tariff (600 mins and 500 texts) I thought it was a good deal to change to their £40 a month for 600 mins and 'unlimited' texts... but there is a catch. At the moment on the £35 a month tariff you can text an international number or send a picture message and it comes out of your 500 message allowance (I think it's taken as 4 messages for international SMS and 2 for picture messages from your 500, or something like that).
With a new 'unlimited text' tariff you will have to pay extra for picture messages and international texts.. This wasn't explained to me and so I cancelled my 'upgrade' on the subscquent phone call..
I thought I would make people aware of this craft trickery by O2 and for also not explaining it clearly on their website or on the phone. Dropping the MMS from your allowance is a bad move! Send this to any other O2 iPhone users you know about..
Please tweet this, post it on Facebook spread the word.

I just spoke to o2 about moving my tariff & they explained the mms situation to me right away - so maybe you just got a few rubbish people to speak to? I rarely send mms so it's better for me to have more normal sms. mms are charged at 20p.
The good news is that they have a £25 tariff now - with 100 mins & unlimted sms! Which is perfect for meThe only problem is that you can only move down 1 tariff at a time, so I need to remember to call back next month.
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -

That has never been the case, if you are abroad and you send a text to the UK, then yes it would be classed as 4 text messages :cool:0
