Hi I was wondering if any of you lovely fellow money savers had any guidance for me re my situation? I will try to be brief. In a nutshell I went on holiday to Florida and was given appalling accommodation. Finally moved to another hotel and kept receipts to give to T Cook for reimbursement. When I got back to the UK I wrote and explained the situation (my brother in law also wrote as he was complaining about the same thing but our holidays were paid for separately). Thomas Cook have offered £200 compensation - fine but they are refusing to reimburse me for my hotel room as they say they have already given that payment to my brother in law.
1. My brother in law also had to pay out for the hotel room for him and his family.
2. Surely T Cook can't justify giving my reimbursement to someone else?
3. They have ignored my last letter.
I'm a single mum and the hotel bill was about £63, any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

Would have to see what your brother in law wrote.... did he send off both receipts for the hotel rooms?
If he did not "explain" that he hadnt paid for both or that refund was required in two names then it is fairly reasonable for them to provide a single cheque to cover both refunds to the person complaining... after all you must "trust" him to have gotten him to deal with it for you.
why dont you simply ask for the money from your BiL?All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Sorry I obviously haven't explained myself properly. My bil didn't deal with this for me. I wrote an independent letter of complaint to T Cook and included all my receipts including the hotel room. My bil has also done this. We have both received compensation but my bil has received his hotel room reimbursement but I haven't. When I queried it T Cook said they had given it to my bil "who it doesn't belong to" but we both had those costs. I would have expected T Cook to deal with each complaint separately anyway, we paid for our holidays separately. Hope this makes things slightly clearer and thanks for responding, I appreciate it.
