Refused a Halifax Reward Account...?

  • Probably not, though you can try.

Also, I imagine you will not get much more in the way of an explanation other than to check your credit file. That is generally how the decline letter works. They may however tell you over the phone why.

If you have no adverse credit history, your having kids is hardly the reason, your salary is more than enough to fund one so you will need to ask them why.

    Hello all,

Thought i'd give you an update now that I've spoken to Halifax.

Turns I did get my solo account as did my partner, but we were refused our Joint Account.

This is because to get any account more than one you have to have some kind of credit with HBOS and as this is our first outing with them, for now, we have been refused.

I wonder if anyone could answer a question about the payments I have to make...

I know its best to transfer the money from an account external to HBOS, but is it ok if its in the same name as the Halifax account.

For example I'm currently servicing some A+L accounts to earn £45 cashback.

Will I be ok to move the money from an A+L account in my partners name to a Halifax account in my partners name?

You can pay the money in from anywhere including another HBOS account. I do.
