Refused a Halifax Reward Account...?

Hi,
Last night I tried signing up to the Halifax - Reward Current Account and got refused.
I wondered if anyone has had the same problem?
They didn't give me a reason but said that I would soon recieve a letter explaining their desciosion.
Do you think I was too honest saying that I have two kids, around £2000 earnings after tax per month, i'd finance it with my salary and that I'm a private tennant?
I've yet to sign up in my partners name and so if you did think that this was the case maybe I could be sparing with the facts....?
I was under the impression they'd give the account to most people.
Thanks in advance

I dont have any RBS accounts.
I'm definetly on the Electoral Roll.
I have had no financial issues or problems what so ever.
Very odd...0 -
You'll have to see what they put in the letter, and then appeal if its not a valid reason. I would still go ahead with your partners application anyway.Justice for the 96 YNWA

Sorry meant to say BoS; I dont have any BoS accounts either.
Should I be less forthcoming with my partners information (dependents, etc)?
Thanks0 -
Yes. Don't lie as there is a database called National Hunter. This stores details that you give on applications. Many banks/other financial companies will compare what you put on the application with details you've previously given to other companies. Technically, it is fraud by false representation by not disclosing the correct information you've been asked for.Should I be less forthcoming with my partners information (dependents, etc)?

Ok.
I'll state the bits they ask but say that the account will be funded by a family gift etc.
Once I get my explanation in the post I'll let you know their reasoning.

Sooo heres what happened.
She was accepted for her account no questions asked.
Our Joint account is still pending, but I can imagine it will be accepted.
When filling it out on her behalf there was very little i could change from mine, other than the way I would finance the account.
I'll give you an update once I've recieved there letter of explanation regarding my account.
Is there much hope in getting them to overturn their descion?0
