SkidSolo wrote:Maybe I should start a new thread with this query but I'm getting turned down by all mentioned above because I've been living with someone for the last year and my electoral registration is still at my parents (you never know!). However, she has kindly offered to go for another card (her rating is excellent) and I would be no 2. Would that improve my rating? Could I still be declined or is she wholly responsible but I get the points? Etc...
Thanks for any replies on this.

Hi,
If you go on your friends account as a second cardholder, the account is in her name not yours so it will not be any help for your credit rating. She would be responsible for all amounts owed on the card. I am sure they will have no problem adding you on as the only credit check that is done is the account holder.0 -
Hiya folks - thought I'd report back. I was still turned down for a Vanquis card. I have no idea why as they simply directed me to Experian. Shellybaby you have my sympathy and indeed...empathy! I'll be checking my Experian report before I try any other cards. Whats the deal with the Aqua card? I'm not bothered about the interest rates i'll be paying everything off in full each month so its effectively 0% anyway. What do people think ofthe Aqua card?
Also - since i'm in the process of repaying an old Capital One debt - are they likely to consider me? I'm not interested in paying deposits, seems to miss the point of a credit card to me. And of course - if i had £200 to lose that easily i would'nt need a credit card!
Thank you in advance for any words from the wise here...or better still, words from the previously foolish!!

Quick update to a very old thread - Vanqui contacted me with a mailshot offering a chance to apply for a card and this time I was accepted. Horrible interest rate but i dont care - it rebuilds my credit history and since i pay it all off (even stuff thats not on the statement yet) I effectively pay 0% interest - which I like! Obviously i wont stay with them for too long but hey - at least the scary rate keeps me in line!!!!0 -
Dont know how true it is but I heard vanquis wont accept you if you still have outstanding defaults - only if they are marked as satisfied.
I was also declined for them last year.0 -
