I don't think so, I know they will reimburse you for trips to interviews/courses they offer, but it would probably be best to call up the jobcentre though and explain. Buses are not cheap! Is there anyone who could give you a lift perhaps? Or walk if it would cost you too much? Long as it isn't raining obviously!

if its only for 6 weeks hopefully it won't be so bad! buses in my area are £4 for the day and you can go anywhere, but that is a hell of alot of money! I used to drive to the jobcentre, but now I walk, it takes about 30 mins, but I feel better for it!

Good luck, and hope you find a job soon!

yeah, thats the awful thing about being unemployed, i have had to take my motor of the road due to lack of money etc, i just wish i could be sucessful in one of my many applications

same to you too, good luck
  • In London, you can qualify for half-price bus travel ( special oyster card) after 13 weeks, good as my round trip to the DHSS was 4 quid on the buses! Maybe there is a similar scheme where you live. DHSS didn't volunteer this info tho they had the forms, but you need to get a photocard from post office then apply via LRT. Maybe asking casually in the post office may tip you off to any schemes in your area?

oh, thats good! I know they have nothing like that down here, but thats really good! Hopefully there is a similar scheme in stokefans area!

Not really on that you have to go once a week, I don't see what that acheives.

JSA is "job seeking allowance" and hence the money should cover "job seeking".

    nope, your wrong.

i search for work every single day of the week, now im gratefull to the government for giving me the job seekers allowence, its tough to stretch it very far, when you have to use about 8-9 % of it going to the job centre, yes im out of work, thats an issue that is not just affecting me financially but in health aswell, im desperae to get working again, BUT i still have bills to pay,

jsa is there as something to fall back on, and beable to live on for a short period of time, not so you can spend the 60 pound on searching for work
