    oh that's awesome!

regarding the job.. do you know what you'd like to do? you said you're seeing a therapist for your social phobia, could they refer you to someone at the job centre who deals with people with disabilities? I don't actually know whether there's such a service in the UK (I would imagine so though!) as I live on the Isle of Man - I never used this (I was planning to but then got a job by myself) but the job centre people over here were saying that they had a guy who had very droopy eyes, which is not a 'disability' but he couldn't get a job because every time he was interviewed people thought he was on drugs! But they made contact with potential employers, explained that it's just what he looked like and he got a job!

i used to work in a very stressful job (which did me no good whatsoever) and when I was looking for my current job I didn't really know what I wanted to do, I just wanted to do something interesting. I work in a lab now and I absolutely love it, I didn't really have qualifications or training for it apart from chemistry labs at school/college/uni and the research I did on the internet regarding pay at entry level lab jobs indicated rather rubbish pay but I thought, once I'm there... I went for it and I've been there for a year and a half now, and the salary is a lot better than anticipated and it's the best job i've ever had, the boss is great and the people are work with are all very nice.

I guess what i'm trying to say, go for stuff you think you might like, even if you don't know what to expect!

Salary concerns me, I'm stuck in this job and not earning much.
It's so mind numbing, I really can't take much more.

would you not prefer to be in a job you actually like on the same salary as the job you hate?

the pay i got offered was about six grand more than i expected - which is a hell of a lot - sometimes you just don't know what the pay is going to be like (unless they say in the advert)!

is your cv up to date? if not, it would be a good idea to start with that. once that's done, print several copies so you have them handy to send off if you come across a job you like.

if you're in england, have a look at the government website for jobseekers - you'll find general advice on job hunting but also you can search through the jobcentre plus database of jobs available.

have a look through local papers - that's how i found my job; our job centre covers the whole island but my job wasn't listed with them.

    that'd be a start!

once you find jobs you like, write a cover letter specifically for the job - it doesn't have to be long but it does show that you're keen and will make you stand out between all the generic cover letters.

I have now cleared the debt thanks. Sell all your stuff, it works!

    Hello Joegw

Am a bit confused. You've raised £3900 in 1 day? If so congratulations. What an incredible feat! If that was a typo then keep going. Just be careful you don't set an unrealistic target for yourself.

Regarding your partner, I just wanted to say you do not have to prove anything to anyone. You are you and if she does not feel the same way or wants out there is nothing you can do.

I went down the proving and fighting road and we ended up prolonging the inevitable and that came with a lot of pain. She either wants to be with you or not and thats her choice so for your sake look after yourself.

Whatever you're doing, do it for yourself.

    Good Luck
