TalkTalk Essentials (which I guess is what they moved you to when you switched) has a 40GB limit.
You can add a £4 a month 'boost' to that to make it 80GB or switch to Pro which is "unlimited". If you go over the 40GB you get one month's grace (though I guess they might slow your service down) then £5 added to your bill (got this info here: http://www.chooseisp.co.uk/broadband-packages/talktalk-essentials.asp).
Other people that were moved from Tiscali to TalkTalk were notified about the price change months ago, at which point they could move, so if you've really only been told about this now you should definitely try to complain.0 -
Theres definetley a £5 charge for going over the 40gb limit however I am sure that I have exceeded it plenty of times but as of yet have not been charged. When we asked how they monitored it we were told that they couldn't but we could?? Confusing.0

I'm now on a monthly subscription with Talk Talk's Anytime Talk and Line Rental at £22.48 a month plus 40g download allowance after originally signing up with Tiscali's better deal.
I will have to stay as I can't see anything equivalent on offer - at least I'm not on an eighteen month contract.
Companies can ignore contracts signed with you, but any customer breaking one, will soon be set upon by them.Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...0
