Co-op, advice needed plz

Options
Hi
Hope this is the right place and someone can advise me.

Been out for the day, on our way home decided to pop to the petrol station (with co op shop) to get something quick for the kids to eat when we got home, they had a pack of mini sausage rolls reduced the date says use by 25 July.
Got home and we started to eat them. When there was 8 out of 20 left I nothiced green mould on them (its on the bottom so never noticed as i opened them) What should I do? there were quite a few packets in the co op fridge and me and the kids have eaten them

I know it wont kill us but its disgusting!!!

I want to complain but dont really know how to (if you know what I mean) im terrible on the phone but they need to know whats "growing in their fridges"

I think that for the benefit of other customers, you should have phoned the shop asap - assuming it was still open when you found the mould - and after telling them about the problem, ask them to agree to refund you when you are next in the store.

You shouldn't have to keep the mouldy items to prove they were mouldy!

    Thanks for your reply,

I tried to phone the shop and well, it sounds like a fax machine, so tried to phone the number on the pack (co op own brand sausage rolls) and according to their answer machine they close at 8 pm, but if its a medical emergency then you should contact your GP taking the product with you? hahaha its like they know!!!!

P.S. Ill try again 1st thing

With the best will in the world, this sometimes happens in shops.Perhaps the items were stored out of fridge at some point for too long,or at some point the fridge temperature was too low.
You have two choices,Contact the store make personal complaint-they may or may not take it very seriously.
    Or complain to Trading Standards.

Post the remaining ones to the address on the pack, with something like …

    "Dear Sir,

I purchased these at xxx on yyy, after my family consumed 12 of these excellent delicious product of yours I was horrified and disgusted to discover a vile green mold present on the remaining ones.
I am now alarmed at the possible health implications this may have for my family, can you please confirm whether I should seek medical advice concerning this.
Also, should I expect the possibility of the presence of mold on any future purchases I may make from your organisation?
I eagerly await your immediate reply."
