Car accident - other party disputing, any tips?

Just wondered if anyone could give me any tips - my car was in a mcdonalds car park in the drive thru queue when someone reversed out of their space straight into the side of me. Looked like a simple claim but now it seems the other party are disputing it and wondered if anyone could give me any tips, could it be due to the fact that it happened on private property?

How would we know? Only way to find out is to ask!

Not sure, but as said, you don't know until you ask really... I expect different places have different policies on how long they keep their videos.

if you dont have witnesses or cctv then im afraid it makes it harder for you prove liability. it may seem straight forward in your eyes, but a devious person knows that all they have to do is simply deny any responsibility. of course this means they would have to lie on their statement and diagrams as to what happened.

my advice, if you have no proof, is to go to the scene, take photographs, write as much detail as possible. go to google earth and zoom into the car park and take a screen-shot (Prt Scr key) then paste into microsoft paint and mark yours/their positions and directions of travel on the diagram using the tools.

also, examine your car for evidence of their paintwork on your car, and point this out in your statement.

its also worth asking the mcdonalds staff if any of them witnessed it.

Depends how many witnesses do you have, if its your word against theirs why would they immediately take your side? the other party could make up an amazing story that has no basis in fact and it would be difficult to prove otherwise.

In what way are they disputing it.

They backed into the side of your car, i assume)
are they trying to say your car went sideways into them.
