O2 Broadband question

I am waiting for my BT line to be activated before ordering O2 broadband but have a question.
I am not a O2 customer but its only £7.50 if you are. Can i get around this by buying a O2 pay as you go sim and register? Will I also need to keep topping up the sim monthly in order to get it for £7.50?

Thanks

    Yes. £10 every 3 months. It's in the O2 T&C

Assuming you have free months there is no rush but you have to have topped up within three months 3 days before your billing date.

No free months on offer at the moment on o2 Standard (or any other package) - they got wise and are trying an idea of cross-selling o2 mobile even more aggressively by giving £50 mobile credit on o2 Premium/Pro (only!).

That said - even without free months - apparently if you don't have your o2 mobile ready at the day you sign-up, you can phone up to add it during the first couple of weeks and they will retrospectively give you the discount if you ask = damn decent of them.

(Alternatively you can add your/friend's o2 mobile # for home broadband discount purposes AT ANY TIME, as the £5/m discount is a test done EVERY month based as you say on the £10 in 3m upto 3 days before billing date - ie even you miss one due to oversight, you can redeem things by a £10 top-up that works for each of the next three bill's £5 discount test).
