lol, go for it, they will soon let you know either way and at least you tried this direction first as part of the normal process, and take it from there.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

If nothing is owing on the loan then they do not need to comply with the 12 days though as I thought. If there is no debt owing then you cannot enforce the 12 day ruling!! (or whatever it is).Hi there
Check any old statements you may have, such as bank statements if this was a loan and if credit card ppi check monthly statements if you have these.
If you bank online and still with the same bank (if loan) as the repayments would have been I expect taken from your bank account, then the acc number should be shown on them, and online banking should allow you to go back as far as 6 years, hope this helps.
Otherwise request for a copy by giving them as many details as possible, all address whilst you had this loan and/or credit card account, your date of birth and any surname changes etc.
You enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment and tell them you look forward to receiving the copy of your agreement by 12 days, if you can post by recorded delivery.
Good luck, ask for further help if required.:)0 -

I've received my first letter back...
''I have received a letter from Black Horse asking us to investiagte your complaint in relation to the sale of PPI by **********. I can advise your complaint has been investigated by the Group FSA team and our findings are as follows:-
This agreement was sold prior to the FSA regulation which did not come into force until the 14th of January 2005, therefore there is no 'Demands and Needs' documentation to refer to
Following the completion of the vehcile purchase paperwork at the dealership the insurer posted out the welcome letter and the terms and conditions of the agreement and the insurance policy an the cancellation terms to you
While we are not required to have a formal FSA process in place at the time of your purchase our company policy demanded that out Sales Executive followed strict guidelines when selling insurance products
I hope you are satisife with the outcome of your findings however should remain dissatisfied you may still refer the complaint to the FOS. To do this, you must contact them in writing 6 months of this letter. I enclose a leaflet which you may find useful. It should be noted that your complaint relates to an event which occured in April 2004, at the time Vertu Motors (VMC) Limited were not a member of the GISC of the FOS''
What would be my next step? send the second letter?0 -

Hi there
Thanks for your update.
It seems they have given this as a final letter if they have enclosed the details of the FOS, so I would now then move on to the FOS, as they have not given you the opportunity to write back to them with further information.
It may be the case that the FOS may suggest the insurer/underwriter direction who should I believe would have been members of the GISC/FSA.
You can request for the policy document from the lender where the details of the insurer should be enclosed on them.
See what the FOS says if you can manage to ring them on Monday.
Some of us have gone the insurer direction as the FOS are also trying to make these responsible too.

Good luck, its another direction to take so all's not lost.;)

Your welcome.
Yes write to them who turned you down and request for the policy document, ask that they post this out to you.
Then you treat this like you did with the BH, if they say no at least the FOS will consider investigating this for you.
Of course if you want to contact the FOS as well its up to you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
