What's he going to do about the massively overpaid, over-bonused bankers who brought us to the brink?

And why should the already highly taxed and poor, by comparison, of this country have to spend the next 30 years paying for their failures?

Also, how would Conservatives go about bringing the able unemployed back into economic productivity?

    Thank you. :)

    Martin -

Please ask the Shadow Chancellor the following two questions.

Will you be able to carry out your promise to immediately abolish HIPS for home sellers?

What level will IHT be set at ?

    Many thanks.
Thank you for reading this message.

Why are Bankers being allowed to keep their extortionate bonuses just because they have a contract, when ordinary people are having their contracts altered to avoid them getting decent pay and moderate bonuses?

Q1. I've been unemployed for nearly a year - could he lend me a fiver...please?

Q2. To ensure as many consumers as possible will still be able to afford to buy into UK plc and support its economy over the coming years, will he not only retain the minimum wage but guarantee that it rises with inflation.
  • I'd be interested to know what the Tories intend to do about public sector pensions which are frankly unsupportable in their present form.
  • What will he do to re-build a savings culture and curb excessive personal debt?

How will he protect those on fixed income as the (inevitable) large dose of inflation is used to clear the huge national debt? OK for those with large personal debts who have overspent in the past but a major problem for those with cash savings or pensioners - even so called inflation proof savings.
  • There was an article in the Telegraph which indicated that the PCG (Professional Contractor's Group) was drafting a proposal to change the NI rates for small Limited Companies. It also mentioned that the Shadow Business Minister, Mark Frisk, had highlighted the IR35 legislation could be done away with.

    Any further information on that?

My jobs the litle picture-political interviews ask these of politicians all the time- what they dont do is ask about energy bills and credit cards.

I understand that Martin. Have we had satisfactory answers to these questions?
  • VAT, as I remember was introduced as a luxury tax. It is now used as a revenue catch-all. When does he intend removing VAT from non-luxury goods, such as childrens clothes, fuel and broadband fees (surely nobody can argue a fast internet connection is a luxury?) and increasing the VAT on real luxury goods, such as Rolls Royce cars and House of Commons whiskey?
I started with nothing and have most of it left.

Mssrs Brown and Darling will be getting my vote if only because of the speed at which they resolved to cover the savings in Icelandic banks back in October 2008 - myself and my father had a somewhat sleepless night when we thought we'd lost £150k house proceed sales until Mr Darling's wonderful radio5 announcement at 7.57am next morning. My question, under the same circumstances, would Mr Osbourne have been as quick to come to this decision ?
