Media Center or Freeview PVR?

We are moving house so taking the opportunity to cut the strings with Sky. We have Sky+ so are looking at alternatives for the recording facility (which really does change your life!) I've costed up getting a media center system which a good friend will build for about £400. Or we could just get a Freeview PVR for £180.…

Thanks for all your replies. I've found in our house that the children are MORE computer savvy than we are! Plus my brother actually works for Microsoft so he'll be on hand to iron out any problems. So I don't have any doubts about whether we could all use a MCE on a daily basis. I was just wondering whether it's as good as Sky+ really or if it's just really fiddly and a complete pain.
