Ideas for mse Great Yarmouth trip

Well we will be off on our holiday to Great Yarmouth again shortly and I am looking for moneysaving tips on what to do with the children (and all of us adults) during the day and also tips for cheap places to eat. We always spend a horrific amount of money visiting theme parks and eating out but I have already booked our tesco vouchers for pleasurewood Hills as the kids love it so I am starting as I mean to go on.
Any ideas of places to visit with young children 3 and 5 and also nice pubs/restaurants that are cheap but nice for adults to enjoy aswell:)

Ring the tourist information centre before you go and ask them to send you their latest brochures etc as they nearly always have money off vouchers etc in them. I always do this before we travel anywhere on holiday and its amazing what you can save!
No suggestions for eating out I am afraid as we only usually visit for the day and the kids usually want a picnic dinner and then a Mcd's for tea:o

We visited the Africa Alive zoo last summer (near Lowestoft) and that was a really nice day out with our 5 and 4 year old, better still you can now use clubcard deals to pay for entry there too!!!

Thanks:), We have always wanted to go there but never got around to it but I will see what entry prices are like and look into it (no more tesco vouchers unfortunately).

We are set on breakfast in the caravan and picnics during the day but its the evenings we are looking for meals:)

There is a toby carvery in nearby gorleston which is fairly new and always nice. There is a local free paper called the advertiser which always has deals for eating out in local restaurants - vouchers for 241, 20% off etc. I will have a think about days out etc, when will you be visiting?

Have a look at this website just before you leave home:

www.tickred.com All you do is choose the vouchers you want, enter your mobile number and they are text to your phone. I use it all the time for meals, cinema and to get a free mcflurry every time I go to my local mc d's!

There aren't many attractions on there as yet but if last year is anything to go by Pleasurewood hills will be arriving soon (bogof) as well as a couple of others. The hollywood cinema in Yarmouth is bogof on there as well (and it's cheap anyway).

If you are staying at the haven park they do discounted tickets to pettits animal adventure park which would be perfect for the age of your children. http://www.pettittsadventurepark.co.uk/index.asp.

    Have fun!

I second pettits, it's fab, my 4 and 5 year old love it, funfair rides, animals and play areas, much fun to be had :-) There is a wetherspoons in town for cheap food but have to avoid the alcoholics in there!! Good old fashioned fish and chips. Fatso's also in town which is good for a decent burger meal.

    Hi

There is a Harvester Restaraunt called The Potters Kiln on the Roundabout just as you turn of the A12 to Pleasurewood Hills. They do Earlybird Menu from £4.99 as long as you sit down before 6.30pm. Childrens Meals from £3.95. Can get quite busy so you may have a wait, have been several times.

Another vote for Pettits, the kids will love it !
If you go take a packed lunch as its not that cheap to eat. There are grassed areas to sit down and have a picnic.
