I live in Stratford (on top of the shopping centre and tube though) and not had any problems. Transport wise, couldn't be better. Everything goes from the station, tube, train and dlr
Not sure if i would want to live on some of the back streets though.0 -

I agree. Just ignore black-saturn's views. She hates east London and while Stratford etc is not perfect, it's not remotely as bad as she thinks. It seems from BS' approach is partly because she feels (in numerous earlier posts that seem to have been deleted by the moderators)there's too many non-white people living there.
