NTL, Virgin and Wireless

Hi All
Just wondering if anyone had some info that could help out my old mum.
Basically, she is using a really old desktop at the moment connected to the web by a NTL router that she must have had for years. She also has a brand new laptop, given to her by a pal, that she doesn't use because it isn't connected to the web!
Anyway, given that my Mum has been a loyal Virgin broadband customer since it was NTL (i.e. for a very long time), is there any chance that Virgin might upgrade her hardware (i.e. the old NTL router) to a wireless router for free?
She isn't keen on changing supplier as they also supply her TV and phone. I've not phoned Virgin yet as I'm not the customer and my Mum hasn't done it as she doesn't know what she is asking.
Thanks in advance.

A colleague at work had the very same problem, he simply phoned up and asked.
Initially they refusedsaying the offer was only for new customers, but when he said he wanted to cancel amazingly they offered him a wireless router, but he did have to enter into a new contract and package. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0
