Supergroup Shares (UK Clothing company)

If you are not aware of what you are getting into then it would be strongly advised against getting into it. In this case the Supergroup shares WILL NOT be 1p each.
In simple terms, the 1p mentioned on the site is the actual value of the share and the lowest price it will be offered at. It's a bit like a money off voucher. While it may get you 50p off your washing powder it will only be worth £0.0001.
Supergroup have not stated the share price investors will purchase at but it's probably likely to be around £5 per share. It will then debut on the LSE at 500p and from there you could gain or lose your money. They could price shares at £10 each or more!!
Nobody can tell you to, or not to, invest as the risk is yours. If you don't understand what the site tells you then I wouldn't recommend investing.
Some certainly don't know what they are investing into. Supergroup is the parent name of companies, Superdry, Surfco California, Breed & Cult. One of the designers is previously from Bench - Bench has nothing to do with this offer.0 -

The shares won't be 1p. Someone more intelligent than me will be along soon, but most shares are marked as '1p ordinary shares'. I presume this is because all shares need some sort of nomial value, but as I say, someone will come on and say why. Anyway, as the poster above has said it looks as though the shares will be priced at 500p each.
I personally wouldn't recommend buying the shares on the basis of the fact that you've bought a coat there. I would want to know a number of things about a company, like their debt, profits, assets, what they get up to etc. before buying in to them. Mind you, sometimes I wonder whether methods such as yours are just as valid...

What it is about the company that attracts you enough to invest in it?0 -

Used to shop in Cult for years, like the style of the clothing, Superdry has grown massively over the six years it has been in existence.
Has doubled turnover this year in a market that has seen retailers closing their doors, is debt free....And if true is developing new brands, and wants to grow into new markets.0 -

I was just reading about them actually. My wife used to be good friends with James Holder who set up Bench and I believe owns a good chunk of this company. She's not in contact with him anymore, but used to go round his place and buy homemade Bench shirts out of his wardrobe.
The Cult brand / shops seem sustainable and a strong brand. I worry about the superdry - it seems one of those brands that has just been so big that you know it will be very uncool in a year or two. Bit like fcuk - everywhere for a couple of years, then nowhere all of a suddent. But who knows.0 -

True, a mate was saying the same thing, they need to be careful not to get to chavy! The same thing kind have happened to Bench, got to big! Apart from Superdry they have not really got many other brands.0 -
Breed & Surfco do perform well but they have to watch with Breed as some of the items are similar to Superdry.
I don't think Superdry will become Chavy, I do think the clothing market will eventually become saturated and certainly around the area's where there are Superdry stores this is the case.0 -

Have you noticed how similar republics Soul Cal is to Surfco? Superdry have some nice clothing and branding at the moment. Would be interested in knowing what happened to Bench. Did James Holder sell the brand....Used to be a massive, do not really see much of it now0 -
Something reminded me of this thread so I had a quick look to see how the company is doing. Share is up around 5% since it launched. Wonder if the OP bought any?
